Quartz
Quartz is found in all mineral environments and in an infinite range of colors. The most common are white, purple, brown, and colorless. Through the radiation process, colorless Quartz crystals obtain green shades and are called "Green Gold". This quality of Quartz is rarely found in Brazil. Most varieties have a vitreous shine and they can be transparent, translucent, or opaque.
Glass has been broadly used to imitate the colorless Quartz. However, the gaseous bubbles present in its interior distinguish it decisively from Quartz.
